Twin Perspectives With Kevis And Trevis Coley
Kevis: We had a bad game. We started off well in the first half, with things going our way, but we started to relax after we took the lead. You can?t relax against any team, regardless of the lead.
Trevis: When we were on top 10-0 we became comfortable with it, though being up 10-0 is not that big of a lead. Third downs once again, killed us. We must improve on stopping teams on third down.
Kevis: The
Trevis: I think that not only was the Tulsa game a wake up call, but most of all, it?s a lesson that showed us that we have to practice hard week in and week out to get ready for any team. We can?t practice light for any team. I don?t care if it?s a junior college team, we?ve got to play hard against every opponent.
Kevis: UCF is the only team in C-USA without a conference loss. When they come into The Rock, they?re coming in 2-0 in the conference. They?re not going to give us an easy win. They?re coming off a big win against
Trevis: This game is big for us, especially because it?s homecoming. It?s going to be a great atmosphere at The Rock, and we?re going to be ready.
Kevis: Southern Miss has been so dominant in C-USA since it started, and a lot of teams look at beating us as a big step in becoming good in the conference. I think they also feel that they have to get past us in to win the conference championship, which is what we want. We?re not going to just give it to them. We?re going to play hard whatever day it is and show them what Southern Miss is all about.
Trevis: Regardless of what other teams think, we have to focus on playing hard every week and defend the reputation that Southern Miss has in Conference
Kevis: I think that the new teams of Conference
Trevis: I don?t worry too much about the other teams in the conference. I focus on Southern Miss and what we have to do against those teams.
Kevis: The conference championship is up for grabs. Whoever wants it the most is going to get it, and we do want it. As I said before, in order for anyone to win the conference championship, you have to get past Southern Miss, and that?s not going to be an easy task at home or on the road.
Trevis: There have been a lot of games this season in C-USA where teams lost a game that you didn?t think they would lose. The conference championship is up for grabs, and we have to step up and take it.
Kevis: I give all of the teams in Conference
Trevis: This conference is not a ?walk in the park?, like some people may think. You have to respect every opponent, regardless of what the conference was then, and what it is now. This is still a good conference.
Kevis: Fans can expect to see a much better team play this Saturday against UCF. The way we played last Saturday is not Southern Miss football. Giving up big plays on both sides of the ball is not up to our standards. It?s homecoming, but it?s also a ball game that we?ve got to win in the conference. The fans will see our ?A? game on Saturday.
Trevis: The fans are going to see a lot of enthusiasm on Saturday.. On defense, they can look forward to a lot of players flying around hitting people and making plays.
