MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Southern Miss got into a hole that it couldn't get out of Sunday night, falling to Conference USA foe Memphis, 60-46, here at the FedExForum.

Memphis improved to 8-7 overall and 1-0 in the league.
Southern Miss made a better game of it, however, in the second half, limiting the Tigers to just 18 points while scoring 28 itself.
