Postgame comments from Louisville Head Coach Rick Pitino
On The Team?s Performance:
?We played the best half since I?ve been at
On The Press Defense:
?When they didn?t start Stiggers, they had more shooting in the game. We weren?t intending on pressing from the beginning. We went to it and tried to change up our presses, and we got some good runs. Our players were active from the start all the way to the final horn. That?s what impressed me so much about our team today, because generally when you have a big lead, you don?t keep playing defense and you trade buckets with the other team. Our team didn?t do that.
On The High Number Of Points:
?We ran our offense and we got to the third, fourth, fifth and sixth options which we haven?t done. If you do that and keep looking to pass, you feed off of that. Everybody had open looks. We had about two challenged shots all night. We also played great defense, which led to the fast breaks. You don?t have many perfect games in basketball, but that?s as good as we can play. We kept playing hard.?
