Basketball Falls To Louisville In Conference USA Home Opener
Rashaad Carruth scored a career-high 25 points Tuesday against Louisville. |
With the win,
Carruth finished with 25 points on 11-of-21 shooting for Southern Miss, breaking his previous career-high of 22 points, which he did two times, the most recent coming against Georgia State (Nov. 20, 2004), in his debut in a Golden Eagle uniform.
Southern Miss opened the game on a 7-3 run in the first minute and a half of the game, thanks to five points from Carruth. The Golden Eagles were down by two, 10-8 at the 15:11 mark, but that would be the closest the team would get for the remainder of the game.
In the second half, the Cardinals continued to protect their big lead, winning by 45.
Michael Ford and Mildon Ambres each scored in double-figures for Southern Miss, with 13 and 10 points respectively.
