Football Continues USF Preparations
The Golden Eagles continued to tweak the gameplan for USF, working on phases of the special teams, while the offense and defense fine tuned its respective schemes.
Head Football Coach Jeff Bower said it's nice to be in a normal routine for the first time this season.
?It?s been good for us to be in a normal routine for a change,? Bower said. ?You want to be in a rhythm in your game week preparation. When you?re not in a routine, you?ve got to work harder to keep the concentration and focus of the players.
?Now, that we?ve played another game, we can put it behind us and turn to another opponent,? Bower added. ?USF will get your attention when you turn on the tape of them. They can run and they are a physical team. USF?s got a good football team.?
Bower said senior offensive lineman Addaryl Edwards strained his knee, but ?will be fine.? Bower added that sophomore defensive back Caleb Hendrix, who had been slowed by hamstring problems earlier in the year, tweaked his other hamstring and ?didn?t do much in practice today.?
Southern Miss, 2-0, 1-0 in Conference
