Southern Miss-DePaul Softball Finale Cancelled

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The final game of the Conference USA weekend softball series between Southern Miss and DePaul was cancelled, Sunday, after heavy rains in the South Mississippi area.

The game lasted just eight minutes and went through a half an inning before a heavy downpour began at the Southern Miss Softball Complex. The contest was then called because of the weather and will not be made up.

The Lady Eagles (26-22, 13-4 in C-USA) won the first two games of the weekend series on Saturday, beating DePaul (20-22-1, 10-7) by scores of 2-1 and 12-4. Southern Miss now returns to action next weekend with a three-game series at East Carolina.
