Southern Miss Softball Games Postponed Due To Rain
HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- Heavy rains continue to plague the Southern Miss Softball team, this time postponing the opening contest of the Sunshine State Tournament in Tallahassee, Fla.
Continuous heavy rains have prompted game officials to hold off on the start of the Southern Miss-Illinois softball game in the three-day event. Officials said that field preparations will not commence until the rain stops, and the delayed start is not yet determined.
The game was scheduled to start at 10 a.m. (ET), 9 a.m. (CT). Southern Miss' game against No. 22 South Carolina, scheduled for 2 p.m. (ET), 1 p.m. (CT) also will be affected.
Updates on the schedule changes to the Lady Eagles (1-1) games will be posted on SouthernMiss.com throughout the day.
