Southern Miss Wraps Up Nebraska Preparation
HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The Southern Miss Golden Eagles went through their final day of Nebraska preparation with a Tuesday afternoon workout at the Joe P. Park practice fields.
The Golden Eagles (2-1, 2-0 in Conference USA) host nationally-ranked Nebraska (3-0, 1-0 in Big 12), in a Thursday night contest at M.M. Roberts Stadium. Kickoff for the game, which will be televised nationally on ESPN, is set for 6:45 p.m.
Southern Miss Head Coach Jeff Bower was pleased with the team's preparation, which included an off-week of work following the Memphis game.
"Practice has gone well," Bower said. "I have been pleased with it. We are done with our physical preparation, and from here on, we will devote our time to the mental part of it."
Bower said the status on defensive end Terrell Paul, who has missed two games because of an MCL sprain, is not yet certain.
"I'm not sure yet if he'll go," Bower said. "We'll make the decision tomorrow after we review the tape and see how he did in practice today."
Bower said Monday that at least three players will be out for Thursday's game, including quarterback Micky D'Angelo (concussion), offensive lineman Travis Cooley (knee) and wide receiver Anthony Perine (ankle).
