HATTIESBURG, Miss. - With a near capacity crowd anticipated for Thursday night?s matchup with Nebraska, the Southern Miss Ticket Office and local law enforcement agencies are gearing up to combat the counterfeit ticket bug that marred last year?s sold out game against Jackson State. That night a number of unsuspecting patrons were turned away when it was discovered that they had purchased fake admissions.
This season, additional security features have been added to both the season and single- game ticket stock to assist game personnel in identifying phony tickets. University and local law enforcement will also monitor those selling surplus tickets in the days and hours leading up to the event.
Fans are advised to play it safe and purchase tickets for university events from the Southern Miss Ticket Office and its authorized agents (i.e. Ticketmaster). At this time a limited number of Nebraska tickets are available at $20 and $40 each. On game day, the Ferlise Center ticket office will be open from 8 a.m., until 5:30 p.m. The stadium ticket office will open at 2:30 p.m., and will be open throughout the game.
