Southern Miss Women?s Cross Country Team Finishes Sixth at the 16th Annual Crimson Classic Invitational
? The Southern Miss Lady Eagle cross country team finished sixth at the 16th Annual Crimson Classic Invitational Friday evening.
Cassandra Goodson was the top finisher for the Lady Eagles, finishing 15th overall and covering the 5K-course with a time of 19:03.75. Teammate Becca Wiseman finished 17th with a time of 19:12.72. Rounding out the Lady Eagle finishes included Keri White, 29th, with a time of 19:47.64, Karen Tankersly (36) with a time of 20:04.62, Rachel Nix (43) with a time of 20:30.13, Liz Palmer (54) with a time of 20:56.33 and Alisha Edwards (56) with a time of 21:13.22. Other Lady Eagle runners were Tomeka Shaffer with a time of 22:45.43, Emily Vincent with a time of 23:51.13, and Shannon Weaver at 24:12.88.
Tennessee captured the team title with 37 points, but Mississippi State's Tiffany McWilliams took the individual honor, finishing first with a time of 17:28.07.
The Lady Eagles compete at the Ole Miss Invitational, Oct. 4.
