Nebraska Preparation Continues
HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss football team continued its off-week work on Nebraska with a practice session Wednesday.
The Golden Eagles, who host No. 15 Nebraska in a nationally-televised game next Thursday, went through the third workout of the week. Southern Miss will hold one more practice tomorrow, then take two days off before resuming preparation on Sunday.
Southern Miss Head Coach Jeff Bower said that quarterback Micky D'Angelo, who suffered a concussion in Saturday's win over Memphis, will meet with team neurologists Thursday. A decision on his status, however, will not be made until after Bower meets with the neurologists on Friday.
"There won't be anything decided tomorrow," Bower said. "You have to rely on the doctors. The doctors will do what's best for Micky, and they will recommend what we should do. At this point in time, we don't know what they think."
Bower also said that redshirt-sophomore Rocky Harrison (Tampa, Fla.) has quit the squad.
