Derrick Nix Inducted Into Southern Miss Football Legends Club
Already a member of the Southern Miss All-Century Team, Nix was honored before Saturday?s 27-6 win over USF by becoming just the fifth member of the prestigious Southern Miss Football Legends Club.

Like the rest of the Legends, Nix was honored with a framed jersey of his No. 43 and a banner with the number on M.M. Roberts Stadium's second level.
Nix, who overcame kidney problems to become one of the most decorated running backs in school history, finished with 3,584 yards rushing in his career, 12 yards shy of the school record and 53 yards short of the Conference USA record. His 30 career rushing touchdown total is tied for third in school history.
