Southern Miss to Host 23rd Annual Cross Country Invitational
HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss cross country team will host the 23rd Annual Cross Country Invitational, Friday, Sept. 13, at the Van Hook Golf Course, pavillion side.
The meet gets underway with the high school girls beginning at 3:30 in a two-mile run, followed by the high school boys at 4 p.m., running a 5K, with the college women starting approximately 4:30 p.m., in a 5K, and concluding with the college men approximately 5 p.m., in a four-mile race.
The field features 15 men's and women's college teams, inlcuding Alcorn State, Belhaven, Centenary, Jackson State, Louisiana-Monroe, Loyola (N.O.), Millsaps, Ole Miss, Mississippi College, New Orleans, Nicholls State, South Alabama, Southeastern Louisiana, Southern Miss, and Tulane.
Last year, Ole Miss won the men's race, while Southern Miss finished first in the women's contest.
Results will be available at www.SouthernMiss.com approximately 8 p.m.
