Golden Eagle Football Receives Votes In Associated Press Preseason Poll
Hattiesburg, Miss. - The Southern Miss Golden Eagle football team received votes in the AP Top 25 Preseason Poll.
The Golden Eagles, who finished 6-5 last season, garnered 27 votes to claim a No. 37 ranking. Southern Miss was one of two Conference USA schools to receive votes in the poll, along with Louisville, which was ranked No. 17.
Miami, Fla., last year's national champions, claimed the No. 1 spot in the preseason poll, while Oklahoma, Florida State, Texas and Tennessee round out the top five. Illinois, last year's Big Ten Champions, which the Golden Eagles play Sept. 7, is ranked 33rd.
