Southern Miss Softball Complex to Be Dedicated
HATTIESBURG, Miss. ? The Southern Miss Softball Complex will be dedicated on Wednesday, April 3, during the Southern Miss-Mississippi State doubleheader. A ceremony involving Southern Miss president, Dr. Aubry Lucas, and athletics director, Richard Giannini will be held between the first and second games.
The first game will begin at 4 p.m., with the dedication ceremony beginning approximately at 6 p.m. Dr. Lucas also will throw out the honorary first pitch before the opening game.
The Southern Miss Softball Complex, located on 25th Ave. and west of the Southern Miss Track and Soccer Complex, opened this season on March 21 with a doubleheader against Arkansas. The Lady Eagles are 3-2 at the Complex, including a three-game shutout sweep over UAB, on March 29-30.
Southern Miss is 18-18 on the season, 9-3 in Conference USA. The Lady Eagles also host Louisville this weekend, April 6-7. A doubleheader will be featured on Saturday, April 6, at 1 p.m., and a single game will start on Sunday, April 7, at Noon.
