Southern Miss Posts Strong Finishes At LSU Meet
Southern Miss posted some impressive finishes and times in the both on the track and in the field events in the non-scoring LSU Twilight Invitational Indoor Meet that was run Feb. 15 in the LSU Fieldhouse.
Coach Wayne Williams' women's team used the meet as a final tuneup for the Coinference USA Championships Feb. 23-24, in Bloomington, Ind., and while Southern Miss does not have men's indoor track, the men's team used the meet to prepare for the opening of the approaching outdoor season.
In addition to several top 10 finishes, Southern Miss' Janet Rono picked up the Lady Eagles' only first place of the day with an impressive first place in the mile run with a time of 5:12.47.
