Signs Encouraged For Louisville Game
Hattiesburg, Miss. - Golden Eagle fans and Southern Miss students who will be a part of the Nov. 14, Thursday night, Game Night at the Rock game against Louisville at 6:30 p.m., are encouraged to bring creative ESPN-related signs to M. M. Roberts Stadium in an effort to further enhance the game atmosphere.
Face-painting, body-painting and other means of supporting the Golden Eagles also are suggested.
The sports network's top crew, Mike Tirico, Kirk Herbstreit, Lee Corso and Dr. Jerry Punch, will be in the Hub city, for the first time ever, to broadcast the game for ESPN, and the City of Hattiesburg, the University and the Athletic Department is seeking to provide the best game-day atmosphere ever at Roberts Stadium.
Regulars to ESPN games know that creative signs get frequent airtime; and, the Golden Eagles' own EagleVision scoreboard will feature fans' signs throughout the game. Fans are reminded to adhere to stadium sign policies when constructing signs for the game. Signs should be in "good taste" and cannot be mounted on poles of any kind.
The Southern Miss-Louisville game starts at 6:30 p.m., and the outcome will have a direct influence on both teams' league championship hopes as well as bowl aspirations.
