Traditional Activities
Friday Night at the Fountain, the Southern Miss Pep Rally
The campus and community-wide traditional event takes place on Friday evenings before all home games in front of the Aubrey Keith Lucas Administration Building. The tremendously popular, must-see event, includes the Southern Miss Cheerleaders, the Pride of Mississippi Marching Band, the Dixie Darlings, the Southern Misses, Seymour, Fireworks, and plenty of Southern Miss revelry.
Tailgating
No Southern Miss Saturday is complete without a full day of tailgating activities. When it comes to tailgating, fans are encouraged to come early and stay late. Three separate stages feature live entertainment, and children can cut loose at Junior Eagle Fun Land. Activities typically begin three hours prior to kickoff and conclude with ample time for fans to get comfortable in the stadium for the Pride's pregame performance.
Touch the Rock
Get your piece of The Rock, just as the Golden Eagles do when they take the field on Saturday at The Rock. All fans are encouraged to Touch The Rock during tailgating, or as they make their way into the stadium up until one hour prior to kickoff. The podium-sized replica of the original M. M. Roberts Stadium is accessible during tailgating and prior to the Pride?s pregame performance.
Eagle Walk (the facility)
The Eagle Walk facility has quickly become a tradition-rich enhancement, touching several aspects of the University community. One will also find memories of greatness captured and permanently displayed in a forum designed to promote the rich tradition and memorable accomplishments of Southern Miss Football. The Eagle Walk is located under the East Rock.
Eagle Walk (the event)
The other fastest growing tradition on campus, the Eagle Walk event, is a procession of the ROTC cannon, The Pride of Mississippi Marching Band, Dixie Darlings, Southern Miss Cheerleaders, and your Southern Miss Football Team. The procession starts at the Alumni House and proceeds North under East Rock and through the Eagle Walk facility and concludes at the entrance to Vann Hall. The Eagle Walk event takes place two hours before kickoff as the team makes its final pregame preparations.
