Football Select A Seat Added to Meet the Eagles Festivities
The traditional Media Day/Meet the Eagles event, scheduled for 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 12 at "The Rock at M.M. Roberts Stadium," will offer a new wrinkle for 2001. Fans can actually use this time to walk the stadium and select football season tickets for the upcoming season.
"We held similar events at a couple of the places I worked in the past with great success," noted Terry Cooksey, manager of ticket operations. "I thought it might do well here as we traditionally have a large number of fans who tend to purchase tickets in the month prior to the opener. We also wanted to give those who might have trouble getting to the ticket office during the week an opportunity to see what's available."
Gates will open to the public at 2 p.m. Ticket office personnel will be on hand until 4 p.m. to assist customers with ticket and parking needs. "We want to give the fans ample time to check out the various seating options," said Cooksey. "I imagine some folks will be quite detailed in their search. If things go well, we will look at expanding the concept to include a number of our other reserved seat sports such as basketball and baseball."
Individual season packages for the five-game home schedule start at $90. A Family Plan that admits one adult and one youth ages 14 and under goes for $125. The home opener versus Oklahoma State is scheduled for Saturday, September 1.
