Men's Basketball Wins at the Buzzer, 69-67
ST. LOUIS (AP) - Kilavorus Thompson hit a 15-footer for the game-winning basket with 4.2 seconds to go as Southern Mississippi overcame a 10-point
second-half deficit to beat Saint Louis 69-67 Saturday night.
Thompson led all scorers with 18 points, going 3-for-5 from 3-point range, and added four assists. Brad Richardson added 13 points, including a key 3-pointer
with 1:18 to go, for Southern Mississippi (18-7, 8-5 Conference USA).
The Golden Eagles have won their last two after losing four of the previous five games.
Marque Perry had 16 points for Saint Louis (13-11, 5-6) and scored six points in the final minute. But he missed on a 3-point attempt at the buzzer.
Maurice Jeffers added 15 points, seven rebounds and four assists for Saint Louis, which has lost three of its last four at home. The Billikens, who led 50-40 with
10:09 to play, have blown four second-half leads this season.
Southern Mississippi won despite 38 percent shooting, its 10th game below 40 percent this season. The Golden Eagles are 6-4 when shooting below 40 percent.
Richardson's only 3-pointer of the game put Southern Mississippi ahead 62-58 and he added two free throws with 31.9 seconds left to make it 66-62.
Two free throws by Perry had tied it at 67 with 15.2 seconds left. Perry also had two layups into traffic in the final minute.

Fisher gave Southern Mississippi its first lead since early in the game at 55-54 with 4:32 left.
Southern Miss made only three of its first 15 shots, but was 6-for-10 the rest of the half to keep it close and trailed 32-30 at the break.
