Women's Cross Country Runs at Pre-Regional Meet
The Southern Miss women?s cross ran in the Pre-Regional Cross Country meet, Saturday, but due to an unfortunate mishap in the women?s event, only two women finished the correct course. All other runners were misled and ran approximately 7,500-meters skewing the times for the event. Team results were not kept due to this error.
Southern Miss? Janet Rono, who was running in second place at the time, was directed in the wrong direction, along with all the other runners. Rono was the Eagles? top finisher, followed by Rose Kurui, Keri White, Jessica Crump, Tomeka Shaffer, Oby Amadi, and Karen Tankersley. No team scores were kept because of the mishap.
Southern Miss returns to action, Oct. 13, at the Mississippi College Cross Country Invitation, in Clinton, Miss.
