Inside the Huddle - Orlando ?Pops? Dantzler
It was a great feeling. It was something that I have always wanted to do ? to get a touchdown. I hadn?t done that in my career here. So, it was definitely one of the highlights of my career. It just felt good. That was my last homecoming game, and I couldn?t think of a better way to go out. We had a big win, and the offense clicked. So, it was a nice day.
Can you describe the feeling you got when you had the first touchdown?
After I caught it, I looked over at my folks who were on the 50-yard line, and I could hear them screaming louder over everybody else. That meant a lot to me. It was just a real special moment for me. After the second one, it was even better. I didn?t think that it could get any better than that, but it was.
Is it safe to say that the game was the highlight of your career right now?
As of right now, I definitely think it is.
What kind of music do you have in your CD players right now?
I listen to the Hot Boyz, Trick Daddy, and mostly down south stuff like Goody Mob, things like that. I listen to a little DMX and Jay-Z. I also listen to a lot of older stuff. I listen to Marvin Gaye and a lot of blues. I listen to a lot of things. I listen to gospel music sometimes, also.
Is there anything that you listen to before a game to get hyped up?
I always listen to a little Tupac before the game. That just gets me into the mindset to be ready to go out on the field to compete and do what the things that are necessary to be successful.
What do you like better ? executing a good pancake block or catching a pass?
I get a good feeling out of blocking because I haven?t caught that many balls. It kind of both ways. Whether I have a good pancake block or I catch a good pass, it goes hand-in-hand. Blocking is just so nasty, physical thing. I am always up for a challenge.
Do you have a different personality when you get on the field?
I have a totally different personality. Off the field, anyone will tell you that I am a laid back guy, and I don?t get mad over this and that. But on the field, I am aggressive and any little thing triggers it off. I think you have to be that way. I don?t think you can be aggressive off the field because it will lead to social problems. You have to have a whole other attitude on the field.
