Southern Miss - Penn State Selected For Television
HATTIESBURG, Miss. ? The Southern Miss - Penn State football game scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 3, 2001 at Beaver Stadium in State College, Pa., has been selected to be televised on ESPN2 with a 11:10 a.m., CT, kickoff.
This marks the seventh Golden Eagle football game that has been selected to be televised this season. Oklahoma State was the only game televised on ESPN, and UAB was shown regionally on CSS (Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast). The Louisville game was already shown on ESPN2 and along with Penn State (11/3), the East Carolina (11/23), Alabama (11/29) and TCU (12/7) games will also be shown on ESPN2.
If Southern Miss appears in a bowl game this season, the Golden Eagles would tie the 1997 and 2000 seasons for the most games televised in a season. Since becoming a charter member of Conference USA in 1996, Southern Miss has appeared on television in 36 of 63 games, 57.1 percent.
