Lady Eagle Cross Country Team Finishes Third
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (Oct. 14) -- The University of Southern Mississippi women's cross country team finished third at the Tiger Invitational, Saturday
morning, behind Samford University and Southeast Missouri.
Samford placed four runners in the top 10 to claim the team championship with 30 points followed by Southeast Missouri with 42 who had
two runners in the top 10. Southern Miss finished third with 78 points, Memphis was fourth with 93 points and Ole Miss finished fifth with
118 points.
Southern Miss' Jessica Crump finished sixth overall and covered the 5K course with a time of 19:03.15. Keri White was 10th with a time of
19:22.38. Other Lady Eagle finishes included Kendra Doyle, 17th, with a time of 20:11.49, Oby Amadi, 18th, at 20:29.28, Hope Sinclair, 27th,
at 21:31.24, Tomeka Shaffer, 28th, at 21:54.20, and Jenny Combs, 31, at 22:49.92.
This was the last meet before the Conference USA Cross Country Championships in St. Louis, Oct. 28.
