WHAT IS THE ATHLETIC FOUNDATION?
The University of Southern Mississippi Athletic Foundation was formed to aid in the development of the University of Southern Mississippi athletics program by establishing and administering endowment funds, which shall be used and applied for student-athlete scholarships; by helping to expand, promote and improve the athletic programs; by providing funds for the purchase or construction of facilities and equipment for the benefit of one or more athletic programs; by providing compensation and other financial assistance for coaches and other key personnel; and by providing such other financial support of the athletic programs at the University as the Board may determine needed.
The Athletic Foundation has made tremendous strides since its formation in the year 2001. This has been proven by the additions of several new facilities and numerous renovations of current athletic facilities, in addition to, the millions of dollars raised for student-athlete scholarships and programmatic support.
