Southern Miss Athletics Internship Program

Southern Miss Athletics provides internship opportunities to undergraduate students at The University of Southern Mississippi who have a passion for working in intercollegiate athletics. Internship experiences expose students to the field of sports administration through event operations, marketing and promotions, athletics communications, athletic administration, and more. Students benefit by gaining practical, first-hand understanding of an NCAA intercollegiate athletics program by working side by side, and in cooperation with, experienced administrators and coaches. The most successful students are energetic, have a passion for sports and want to be engaged in a fast-paced learning environment.

Internship opportunities last a minimum of one semester and consist of 5-10 hours per week (on average) working directly with athletics professionals. These internships are un-paid and will yield valuable exposure and experience that can be built on, preparing the student for an off-campus internship in the sports industry. To be eligible for this experience, the student must:

• Be an undergraduate student at The University of Southern Mississippi
• Be willing to dedicate 5-10 hours per week to the Athletics Department
