Aug. 19, 2013 The Southern Miss football team returned to the practice field here Monday, going through two workouts during the day.
After enjoying just their second day off of training camp on Sunday, the Golden Eagles hit the game field at Roberts Stadium for a three-hour workout during the morning practice and then returned in the evening for another hour and a half session.
Southern Miss concludes training camp with one more practice on Tuesday morning before allowing the team off a day for the start of fall classes.
First-year coach Todd Monken said following the first practice on Monday that the team's off day would be when the coaching staff was to begin working on the Texas State game plan, the Golden Eagles' 2013 opening opponent on Aug. 31, at The Rock.
