Southern Miss Completes Huntsville Qualifiers

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Southern Miss finished their two-day showing in Huntsville with strong showings in the top division. Madison Cassidy and Valeria Siakidou Papakyriakou finished fourth in the Bid Division Consolation bracket to pace the Golden Eagles' day.
Sarah Murczek and Ola Chudzik, who last week earned a second-place finish at the Coconut Beach Fall Invitational, defeated Tulane in three sets and played North Alabama to a close three-set finish. Cassidy/Siakidou began their day with a win over Eastern Kentucky
In the Open Division, Southern Miss collected a win thanks to Ella Rodriguez and Carmen Sanchez Delgado's two-setter over Mercer. While unable to muster a full win on their other sets, the Golden Eagles pushed their opponents to three sets in seven total duals on the day.
The Golden Eagles will return to action next weekend for the two-day LSU Fall Competition in Baton Rouge, La.
