BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Southern Miss wrapped up day two of the UAB Fall Exhibition with good showings against some of the nation's top teams. LSU finished last season ranked fifth while Georgia State qualified for the National Championship Tournament after winning Conference USA outright and finished ranked eighth overall.
After the action, Golden Eagle head coach Shawn Taylor said, "I really feel good about how we competed today. There were a few moments where we broke down, but we were able to regroup and rebound. We've seen a lot of growth, especially, with our returning group. Overall, a great weekend of competition with a lot of good stuff to build on as we ramp up our fall training."
Southern Miss' proved to be quite the test for the Tigers and Panthers across the board. While only able to win one match outright, Southern Miss was able to take a few sets from each team and played multiple pairs to a close third set.
