Southern Miss SAAC Set to Hold Annual “Let’s SAAC Hunger” Canned Food Drive

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will hold its annual "Let's SAAC Hunger" food drive from Nov. 16-21.
All canned goods that are donated at Southern Miss will directly benefit our local community. Immediately after collections are complete, all items and cash donations will be given to the Eagles Nest Food Pantry on campus which provides resources for Southern Miss students and staff who are temporarily experiencing challenges accessing basic necessities, including food.
Southern Miss SAAC has partnered with Corner Market and will be collecting canned goods, non-perishable food items and cash donations at the Midtown Market location from Monday, Nov. 16 - Friday, Nov. 20 from 3 – 7 p.m.
Canned goods will also be collected at M.M. Roberts Stadium prior to the game at gates 1,3,7 & 9 for the following football game:
-Saturday, Nov. 21 at 2 p.m.: Southern Miss vs. UTSA
Lastly, canned goods and non-perishable items will be accepted from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., weekdays from Monday, Nov. 16 – Friday, Nov. 20, in the Pat Ferlise Ticket Office.
It is the mission of the SAAC to unite the voice of the student-athlete population, and to serve the surrounding community regarding issues of health, welfare and equity.
