Southern Miss holding cheer clinic, tryouts in April

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- Southern Miss Cheer will host its annual clinic (April 15) and tryouts (April 20-22) this spring on the university campus.
The clinic will run from 1 - 3 p.m. at Reed Green Coliseum with registration at noon. The three-day tryout begins Friday, April 20 from 6-9 p.m. with registration at 5 p.m. Saturday's portion will go from 9 - 5 p.m., followed by Sunday from 9 - 12 p.m., which will also be the interview portion of the tryout.
Participants should come dressed in cheer attire for the first two days. Dress for Sunday is business casual in Southern Miss colors. Then, the squad will be decided and the first team meeting will be at 3 p.m. that Sunday.
As an added bonus, ACE Cheer Company of Hattiesburg will host several open practices ($10 each) on several Mondays throughout the spring leading up to the tryout week.
Requirements to make squad include:
Co-Ed: Toss Extension, Walk-in Extension, Toss Hands Lib, Toss Hands Stretch Full, Optional Stunt All Girl: Quick Toss Extension, Switch-Up Lib, Assisted Quick Toss Stretch Full, Full Up to Platform Body Position, Optional Stunt
Tumbling:
Male - Tumbling Recommended
Female - Tumbling, Standing Tuck, Standing BHS Tuck, Round off BHS Tuck all required
YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO TRYOUT WITHOUT THESE REQUIREMENTS.
