Demydova Wins Triple Jump at the East Preliminary

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Southern Miss track and field team added its final student-athlete to the list of NCAA National Outdoor Track and Field Championships when Ganna Demydova captured the triple jump title at the NCAA East Preliminary on Saturday.
Demydova registered a mark of 13.99m (45-10.75) to place first in the event. She is making her second trip to the NCAA National Meet.
Marcus Norwood, Jr. failed to advance to the nationals after posting a jump of 2.16m (6-11.50). Robert Collingwood recorded a mark of 17.52 (57-5.75) in the shot. Tamarra Bowie had a jump of 11.60m (38-00.75) in the triple jump.
