Five Golden Eagle Student-Athletes Receive Degrees

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - - Five Southern Miss student-athletes graduated with their degrees on Friday, December 15, in Reed Green Coliseum.
Two football players received their degrees today, All-American and two-time first-team All-Conference USA offensive lineman George Batiste and defensive back and two-year letterwinner Howard Overby.
Others graduating today were Danny Dennis, menâ?TMs golf, Katie McClary, womenâ?TMs soccer and Courtney Ulrich, womenâ?TMs tennis.
This past summer, Dennis was named a Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar by the Golf Coaches Association of America's (GCAA) All-American Scholars' Committee. This is his second time to receive the honor, making him the only male golfer in school history to be selected more than once.
McClary was a four-year letterwinner for the Lady Eagles, playing in 68 career matches from 2002-05, and Ulrich was a four-year letterwinner for the Lady Eagles from 2003-06. Ulrich was named to the Athletic Directorâ?TMs Honor Roll and the Conference USA Commissionerâ?TMs honor roll for four years.
