Soccer Snaps Three Match Losing Streak

Sophomore Carly Barkley scored Southern Miss' lone goal in the team's victory over Cincinnati.

HATTIESBURG, Miss.? The Southern Miss Lady Eagle soccer team snapped its three-match losing streak Friday, with a 1-0 victory over Cincinnati.

With the win, the Lady Eagles improve to 5-3-1 overall, 1-2 in Conference USA. The win marks Southern Miss? ever soccer victory against Cincinnati. The Lady Eagles tied the Lady Bearcats in 1999.

Southern Miss sophomore Carly Barkley scored the loan goal of the game, her fourth of the season.

Senior goalkeeper Leslie Schoeplein had five saves in the game.

The Lady Eagles return to action Sunday, with a match against Louisville set for 1 p.m.
