Macklin Announces Four Soccer Signees
This is the first recruiting class for Macklin, who enters her second year as Lady Eagle Head Coach.
The 2005 women?s soccer signees are Malinda Hill (5-8, Defender/Midfield, North Shore HS/Slidell,
?I?m very excited about the signing of these players, since it is my first recruiting class,? Macklin said. ?They will make an immediate contribution to our program.?
Malinda Hill, 5-8, Defender/Midfield,
Played for Coach Wes Leake at North Shore HS ? Was a four-year starter ? Helped North Shore HS reach the 5-A state playoffs for four consecutive years ? Scored a total of 19 goals in her career ? Had seven goals as a senior, five as a sophomore and four as a freshman ? Named 2004 team defensive MVP ? Tabbed first-team All-District from 2002-04 ? Also played club soccer on the Baton Rouge Under-18 Girls Premier team ... Participated on the Mandeville Lakers under-17 team that was champions of Region III and was the state champion runner-up ? Played for the Mandeville Lakers under-16 team that was Southeast Sub-regional champions and was a Region III semi-finalist ? Was a member of the Mandeville Lakers under-15 team that won the Louisiana State Championship and participated in the National Super-Clubs tournament at the Disney World ? Played for the Mandeville Lakers under-14 team in 2001, as the team finishing runner-up in the state of Louisiana ? Played in the Louisiana under-16 Super Y-League ? Also was a member of Louisiana Olympic Development team in 2002 and 2003 ? Honor roll in 2003 and 2004 ? Who?s Who Among American HS Students ? North Shore Panther Acheivement Award recipient in 2002 and 2003 ? Daughter of Steven and Roxanna Hill.

Played for Coach Jay Schnebly ? Was named team MVP from 2002-04 ? Tabbed all-area from 2002-04 ? Helped Lafayette Jefferson HS to sectional and regional championships in 2004 ? Scored five goals as a senior, 11 as a junior, 19 as a sophomore and nine as a freshman ? Named best midfielder in 2003 and 2004 ? Helped Selected All-District in 2004 ? All-Conference in 2001 and 2002 ... Also played club soccer for the Indianapolis Dynamo F.C. Pride ? Participated in a Scholastic Arts Competition and won two gold keys and two silver keys ? Member of the honor roll and honor society ? Soccer All-Academic honors ? Vice-president of the senior class ? Daughter of Charlie and Coleen Hamrick.
Jessica Ritsmon, 5-6, Midfield,
Played for Coach Chris Harmon ? Was a four-year starter ? Scored six goals in her senior year ? Had five goals as a junior ? Honorable mention All-State ? Helped Lawrence Central HS to sectional championships from 2002-04 ? Also played for the Indianapolis Dynamo F.C Pride ? Helped the team to the National League Finals in Toldeo, OH and finish runner-up in the state cup four consecutive years ? Team placed third at the Germantown Invite and earned state championships in 1999 and 2000 ? Honor roll and national honor roll ? Daughter of John and Leslie Ritsmon.
Jessica Stephens, 5-5, Forward, Antrim Grammar School/Northern
Played for Coach Cheryl Lamount on the club team Belfast United Glentoran ? Member of the team that won the National League with BU Glentoran in 2003, which qualified the team to represent all Northern Ireland club teams in an European Tournament ? Was a member of the Northern Ireland under-19 national team that played in the European Championships in Prague ? Played under-15, under-17 and under-19 club soccer for the Northern Ireland International Team ? Played in Lithuania and Prague for the UEFA Championship team under-19 team for Coach Ian Stewart ? Helped the team qualify for the second round of the UEFA Championships ? Attended Antrim Grammar School and played for the Antrim WFC club team from 2001-02 and was the team?s top goal scorer for two years ? Daughter of Mercia Stephens.
