Lady Eagle Soccer Drops C-USA Decision To UAB
HATTIESBURG, Miss. ? On a rain-soaked field at the Southern Miss Soccer Complex, the Lady Eagle soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision to defending Conference USA Champion UAB on Sunday.
The Blazers scored three goals in the first half, and added a goal in the second for the win.
Forward Tara Kidwell had a hat trick for the Blazers, scoring twice in the first half, in the 15th and 24th minutes, and adding a second-half goal in the 51st minute.
Southern Miss had 14 shots in the match, but could not get one past UAB keepers Katie Forbis and Julie McFarlane, who combined on the shutout.
While UAB scored four goals, Lady Eagle keeper Anna Snyder had several impressive saves. The senior finished with 11 on the day.
UAB outshot Southern Miss 24-14. The Blazers put 15 on goal to the Lady Eagles three.
Megan Kolts led Southern Miss with four shots, while Lauren Prewitt and Kim Turner each added two shots, both putting one on goal.
