Alumni Association's Summer Events Kick Off Football Campaign
HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- Golden Eagle Fans: Get ready for the upcoming football season with a trio of summer events to be held across South Mississippi.
Join head coaches Jeff Bower, Larry Eustachy, Joye Lee-McNelis and Corky Palmer as well as the Southern Miss cheerleaders and Seymour as the Alumni Association helps kick off the 2005 football season.
The 22nd Annual Southern Miss All-Star Party will be held Thursday, July 14, at Mississippi Trade Mart in Jackson. One week later, the Gulf Coast Beach Bash will be held at the Isle of Capri Casino in Biloxi. And on Saturday, August 13, the 10th Annual Eagle Fanfare will be held at the Payne Center on the Hattiesburg campus.
Hosted by the Central Mississippi Alumni Chapter, the all-star party will feature a silent auction/social at 4:30 p.m., with dinner following at 6 p.m. In addition to the coaches, standout Golden Eagle football players will also be present for the event.
Tickets for the event are $15 per person in advance and $18 at the door. Children?s admission (12-18) is $8. No charge will be assessed for children under 12. For tickets, contact Troy Odom at (601) 278-2777, Libby Condia at (601) 982-3066 or Kim Gallaspy at (601) 209-8152.
The event is sponsored by Cellular South and the Isle of Capri Casino.
The Gulf Coast Beach Bash, hosted by the Gulf Coast Metro and Southeast Mississippi alumni chapters, features a social from 5 to 6 p.m., with dinner following at 6 p.m.
Both the social and dinner will be held in the Isle of Capri Casino?s Flamingo Bay Ballroom.
As they will at the all-star party, standout football players will also be present at the beach bash.
Menu for the event will feature grilled hamburgers and hot dogs, as well as assorted side dishes.
Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the door. Admission for children ages 6-12 is $8 in advance, $10 at the door. Children under six may enter free of charge.

Rounding out the trio of summer events is the 10th Annual Eagle Fanfare.
At the event you?ll have an opportunity to mingle not just with coaches, Seymour and cheerleaders, but the entire Golden Eagle football team as they prepare for the 2005 season.
Dinner and silent auction will be held from 6-7 p.m., with a special program beginning at 7 p.m.
Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door for adults; $8 in advance and $10 at the door for children 5-12; and free for children under five. Tickets can be purchased from the Pat Ferlise Center at (601) 266-5418 or the Ogletree Alumni House at (601) 266-5013. Each ticket purchased will qualify the ticket holder for a tailgating package drawing courtesy of Campus Book Mart, one of the event?s sponsors.
