Alumni Association To Host Hospitality Tent At NCAA Regional
HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The University of Southern Mississippi Alumni Association will host a hospitality tent for alumni, friends and fans of the Golden Eagles prior to each of the Southern Miss baseball team?s games at the Oxford Regional.
Complimentary food and drinks will be available at the black and gold tent, to be located near Oxford-University Stadium at the corner of University Avenue and Grove Loop, beginning one hour, 30 minutes prior to each Southern Miss contest. The second-seeded Golden Eagles (41-19) open the four-team regional 3 p.m., Friday, against third-seeded Oklahoma (33-24).
Tournament ticket booklets have been sold out, although single-game tickets are still available. Single-game tickets can only be purchased at the gate on the day of the game, through the University of Mississippi Ticket Office. Available tickets are standing-room only, $12 for adults and $7 for youth.
Participating teams include Southern Miss, Oklahoma, top-seeded Ole Miss (44-18) and fourth-seeded Maine (34-17). The regional winner will face the winner of the Texas Regional, hosted by the University of Texas, in a best two-of-three series for a berth in the College World Series.
This marks the third-straight season Southern Miss has advanced to an NCAA regional, a school record. The Golden Eagles have now earned NCAA Regional berths six times, 1990, 1991, 1999, 2003, 2004 and 2005.
